Rotating knife
The present invention relates to a rotating knife, primarily for use in connection with food.
Background of the production
When cutting slices or strips of food, such as meat, chicken or fish, it is known to use an electrically driven rotary knife. This is especially true in kitchens, grill bars, fast food restaurants and similar places where food that has been processed or is still being processed in the form of frying, grilling or cooking must be cut into slices or strips before serving.
In this context, there are strict hygiene requirements, and such knives must therefore be cleaned several times every day. As water and cleaning agents can damage the electrical and mechanical parts of such knives, the knife itself and its shield must be removed with suitable tools before cleaning and reassembled afterwards. In practice, this means that the necessary cleaning is often skipped because it is simply too cumbersome and time-consuming, which means that the hygiene requirements set are not complied with.
Brief description of the creation
It is an object of the present invention to provide a rotating knife without the above-mentioned problems of the prior art in the field.
The present invention relates to a rotating knife comprising a motor part and a removable knife head, where the motor part and the knife head can be separated from each other and reassembled without the use of tools, and where the knife head can withstand being cleaned either in assembled or disassembled condition.
DK 201700085 U3
With such a construction a much faster and easier cleaning of the rotating knife is achieved, because the knife head can be dismantled in a second without the use of tools, after which it can be cleaned either as it is or in a disassembled state without the vulnerable electrical and mechanical parts in the motor part comes into contact with neither water nor cleaning agents, while another knife head can be mounted on the engine part and work can continue.
In one embodiment of the invention, the motor part and the knife head are designed so that the knife head can be coupled to the motor part by first pressing the two parts together in the axial direction and then rotating the knife head relative to the motor part.
In one embodiment of the invention, either the knife head or the motor part comprises one or more locking pins, and the other of the two parts comprises a corresponding number of locking passages, and each of the one or more locking pins by insertion into a locking passage and subsequent rotation of the two parts in relative to each other prevents axial movement of the knife head relative to the motor part when the two parts are coupled together.
In one embodiment of the invention, each of the one or more locking pins comprises a projection which, when the knife head and the motor part are coupled together, engages with a notch in the respective locking passage, so that the two parts cannot be rotated relative to each other, without sufficient force being applied in such a rotation to force the protrusion out of the notch.
This provides a double-secure quick coupling between the two parts, which can be separated or assembled in a second, but not accidentally separated from each other.
In one embodiment of the invention, the rotating knife further comprises a mechanism for adjusting the cutting thickness, which mechanism comprises an adjusting ring which is in threaded engagement with abutment for the round knife itself.
This achieves a simple and reliable stepless adjustment of the cutting thickness.

The figures
In the following, a few embodiments of the invention are described in more detail with reference to the figures, in which
FIG. 1 shows a rotating knife according to an embodiment of the production in assembled condition,
FIG. 2 shows the same rotating knife in disassembled condition,
FIG. 3 shows the details of a quick coupling according to an embodiment of the invention,
FIG. 4 shows a knife head according to an embodiment of the invention, and
FIG. 5 shows an adjustment mechanism for the cutting thickness according to an embodiment of the invention.
Detailed description of the production
FIG. 1 and 2 show a rotating knife 1 according to an embodiment of the production in assembled condition with motor part 2 and knife head 3 in assembled and disassembled condition, respectively.
The motor part 2 is designed as a handle, in which an electric motor (not shown) is mounted, and the motor shaft is designed so that it can engage a counterpart in the knife head 3 when the two parts are assembled. In the embodiment shown, the motor is driven by alternating current from the supply network through a wire, but in other embodiments the motor may be a direct current motor driven by one or more (possibly rechargeable) batteries arranged in the motor part.
DK 201700085 U3
In addition to the round knife 10 itself, the knife head 3 comprises an adjusting ring 4 for adjusting the cutting thickness and a shield of the round knife 10.
FIG. 3 shows how the knife head 3 comprises two locking pins 5 which are designed so that they can engage with locking passages 7 in the motor part 2 by first being pushed down into the locking passages 7 in the axial direction and then being locked by a rotation of the knife head 3 in relative to the motor part 2. The figure further shows how the locking pins 5 are provided with soft projections 6 which engage with corresponding notches 8 in the locking passages 7 when the knife head 3 and the motor part 2 are coupled together. In other embodiments of the invention, the locking pins 5 can be mounted on the motor part 2, and the locking passages 7 can be arranged in the knife head 3.
FIG. 4 shows the knife head 3 from FIG. 3, and it is seen how the two locking pins 5 are arranged inside the knife head 3.
FIG. 5 shows an adjustment mechanism for the cutting thickness according to an embodiment of the invention. An adjusting ring 4 is threadedly engaged with a system 9 for the round knife (not shown in this figure). By rotating the adjusting ring 4, an axial displacement of the abutment 9 and the round knife 10 relative to the rest of the knife head 3 is obtained, whereby the cutting thickness can be adjusted steplessly.
